Prabhas’ much-awaited Fauzi is reportedly facing a race against time to meet its announced December 3, 2026 release date. Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi and produced by Mythri Movie Makers and T-Series Films, the period action drama is one of the biggest Indian films currently in production. While the makers continue to maintain December 3 as the release date in their conversations with close circles and the trade, the film still has substantial shooting and post-production work left to complete.
Shooting Schedule and Pending Work
According to the latest industry update, the team is expected to continue shooting without a break until the end of September, with Prabhas reportedly participating until September 20. One major action episode has already been completed, while another is set to begin around Hyderabad, followed by several days of talkie portions involving key artistes.
With such a substantial amount of filming still pending, completing the post-production, VFX and other finishing work within the remaining window appears extremely difficult. This becomes even more significant considering Hanu Raghavapudi’s reputation for being particular about his output and unlikely to compromise on the quality of the final product.
Summer 2027 More Likely
As a result, Fauzi is now reportedly likely to move to early summer 2027, although no postponement has been officially announced yet. Interestingly, if Spirit also moves from its current release plans, Fauzi could potentially take that window.
On the other hand, if Prabhas’ film vacates December 3, the same production house’s Ranabaali, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, could reportedly step in and occupy the slot. For now, December 3 remains the official date, but the coming weeks could determine whether Fauzi reaches theatres this year or joins the 2027 release calendar.
